Weekend Recap 1/26-1/28

Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are off to a great start to your week. I actually LOVE Mondays, I haven’t worked a Monday in over 3 years so it is always my day to get caught up around the house, meal prep, do laundry, clean and get a head start on the blog for the week! I am still getting use to taking pictures of all the exciting things I do, so bare with me as I scrounge around for pictures to represent how fun my weekend was! Sooner or later the photography thing will come to me! Below is my weekend recap, as always let me know how your weekend was!

Friday

Friday I had a follow-up doctor appointment for the fatigue issues I am having. My husband took the kids to work with him for breakfast and to run around until I was able to pick them up. After I picked them up we headed to the mall so I could return some shoes to Payless and a few things to Target. This mall has a small play area in front of target so I made sure to get some quarters so they could ride the cars and merry-go-round. Once we were done playing we walked to Starbucks so I could try an almond milk latte. I was hoping I would love it, but unfortunately I did not. Almond, Cashew, and Coconut milk are just gross to me. I am curious if making a homemade version would taste better?? Anyways, while at Starbucks I grabbed the kids some thin mint cookies to share. Nolan was obviously a fan!

Once we got home, we had a picnic lunch on the living room floor that lasted about 5 minutes before Nolan stepped in laughing cow cheese and I moved them up to the table. They went down for a nap at 1pm and I was able to tidy up the house and do some blog work. They napped like champs and once they woke up I put on the tv so I could get dinner going. It was a pretty uneventful rest of the evening (which I like).

Saturday

Saturday my husband and I got to spend the afternoon in Carmel at the Refuge spa!! My in-laws got us a gift certificate for Christmas and we were able to get two 100 minute Swedish massages! It was such a wonderful experience. The Refuge is a co-ed relaxation spa that includes 6 hot and warm pools, 4 Nordic cool/cold plunge pools, a cedar sauna and eucalyptus steam room to use before/after your massages. This is all included when you book a massage or you can just pay for a day pass and opt out of a massage. This was our first time here so we didn’t really know what to expect. When we arrived we were given lockers that included 3 towels, a robe, and a water bottle. The water bottle had instructions for the recommended experience (which was nice). They recommend heating up in the steam room or sauna, taking a cold plunge in their Nordic cold plunge pools, then relaxing near the fire pit or in the zero gravity chairs. I am not one for cold pools but the experience of the hot sauna to cold plunge pool to hot tub was amazing! We did the cycle once and then relaxed by the fire pit until it was time for our massages. Both of us had very relaxing Swedish massages and then headed back to the hot tub and completed the hot-cold cycle again. Once we were done with the spa we headed to downtown Carmel where we did a wine tasting and had lunch at Pub. It was a fabulous day and we are so grateful for Nana and Pappys thoughtful gift and babysitting!

Sunday

So this is probably ridiculous but we were exhausted from the spa! Ha. Sunday was off to a slow, easy morning of a casual breakfast and then we headed to the Little Gym for our friend’s son’s first birthday party. We have been members at the Little Gym for a few years but this was our first birthday and the kids had a blast! Such a great idea for a easy fun birthday. The day wrapped up with the usual Sunday chores; laundry, groceries and meal prep.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and productive Monday! This is a busy week for me as it may be my last week off of work before I have to head back. I am waiting for the e-mail confirmation any time now…. Eeek.

Thursday: Bootcamp/Pilates

Friday: Bootcamp

Saturday: HIIT

I am taking it easy since I am still recovering from the cold I got last week. I hope you all have a great week and I will be talking to you again soon =)
