What to pack in your gym bag

Recently I started working out in the morning before work and thought it would be helpful to share with you what to pack in your gym bag! Below is a list of what I pack and what my morning schedule looks like. Fitting in exercise can be done!! With a little planning, you can fit it in. Whether it be an hour long class or a 10 minute HIIT before hopping in the shower. Regardless of the logistics of your workout, one thing remains the same: plan for your success. Plan your workouts the week before, or even the day before. Lay out your workout clothes. Get your music ready to go. Pre-fill your water bottle the night before. Small steps like that will make your fitness routine stick! Here is what my routine looks like Sunday-Friday (I normally don’t workout on Saturday & Sunday):

Sunday (prep for the start of the week):

Layout workout outfits for the week. I keep them in my closet and the I put an outfit in the bathroom the night before, with my Orangetheory heart rate monitor out as well.

Night Before:

  • Pack work clothes + shoes
  • Fill water bottle
  • Layout workout outfit in bathroom
  • Put contacts out on bathroom sink

Day Of Schedule:

  • Wake up at 5am
  • Restroom, change, contacts, deodorant, brush teeth
  • Leave at 5:30am
  • Arrive at gym at 6am
  • Workout 6-7am
  • Shower @ gym 7-7:15am
  • Work on blog @ gym 7:15-7:45am
  • Leave for work @ 7:45am
  • Start work @ 8am

What I Pack In My Gym Bag:

  • 2 towels (one for floor to stand on and one for body)
  • Grocery pag for towel/wet flip flops
  • Flip flops for shower
  • Face soap
  • Wash cloth & baggie for used cloths
  • Makeup+ face lotion+deodorant (I highly recommend this natural deodorant)
  • Face soap + body wash
  • Work clothes + shoes
  • Hair brush, dry shampoo
  • Blogging notebook

I should note I luckily work in a casual office, so normally I do not do my hair or makeup which saves me a small chunk of time in the morning. If it is a day where I need to look more presentable, I would just spend a little more time getting ready and pack my curling iron and makeup the night before.

And there you have it! A glimpse into my daily weekday schedule and what I bring with me to the gym.
