The Best Morning Routine For Moms
Chances are, if you are here (reading my blog) you love a good routine. We all want to start our day out with a simple, easy, and productive morning routine that leads towards a productive day, right? Instead, your alarm goes off, you hit snooze a few times. Lay in bed, scroll on your phone. Check your email. Contemplate the day and poof! An hour has passed.
You begin to stress about the day, not enough time to get all the things done. The kids start screaming, the dog wants to be walked, the dishes need to be unloaded. Overwhelm begins to set in. Yes, this is a scene from how my life use to be…but I bet you can relate, right? What if I told you, you can set your day up for success just from creating an easy to follow a morning routine. My approach will take away your overwhelm, and let you live a life of simplicity.
I love myself a good routine. If you are on my site, I am assuming you do too! Or you want to…either way, I am here for ya!
Morning Habits You Need to Start Now!
Here are the morning routine habits you need to start now to have a more productive day!
Make A Morning Routine Checklist
What are the things you want to accomplish in your morning routine? Do some journaling and make a list of ALL the things you would love to do! I currently have been loving waking up, scrolling on my phone a bit (yes, I do this, and enjoy it), making a coffee, watching the news, do some journaling if I feel overwhelmed, and then about 30m later, get to work! Each day is different for what my hour of work looks like, but it is part of my morning routine. I then walk the dog, come home, and tend to the kiddos.
Setup for Success the Night Before
I time block the upcoming day in my Simplified Planner every night. Sometimes I am able to follow it, sometimes not, but I go to bed calm, and ready for the day.
Form a Habit over Another Established Habit
This is a tip thanks to Chalene Johnson. She would put her journal near her toothbrush. Brushing her teeth was an already established habit, so by putting her journal there, it made it very easy for her to start a new habit.
The hard part. Consistency. This is my number one problem. I can plan for days. I love it! But, sometimes executing something consistency is a HUGE challenge for me. Planning the night before, being realistic with my time, and constantly re-evaluating helps a ton with this.

Sit in silence with your coffee!
My Morning Routine
Because everyone loves examples, here is my morning routine =) It does change depending on the time of year, but mainly its what I do!
5:10am: Latte (I seriously look forward to this all day lol)
5:15am: Brain Dump-regardless if I am overwhelmed or not, I like to do a huge brain dump for the day. Gets it all out, on paper, and frees up necessary brain space!
5:30am: Blog: Social Media posts: Pinterest Pins & Facebook posts
5:50am: Blog Posts-writing time!
6:30am: Shower/Get ready (clothes (aka leggings), contacts, brush hair, concealer, brows, & bronzer)
7:00am: Kids ready/breakfast
Set your day up for success by creating an easy to follow, simple morning routine. This approach will take away your overwhelm, and let you live a productive life of simplicity.
